GINORMOUS lolipop....

I don't think that's a real word, but remember on "ELF" when he uses it to describe the toilets? Haha...one of my favorite parts.
Anyway.... So here's a few from my attempt at a Christmas Card photo session with my own kids. I won't share the one that I ended up using on the real card but just a quick series of a few that I didn't and you'll know why in just a sec....
First, I HAD to have this Lolipop when I saw it. I had visions of the best photo session ever with my kids. They'll love it, I'll love it, It will be soooo much fun. Right?!? So... I pulled out my wallet and paid the big old price that they were asking for this thing cuz it was gonna be sooooo worth it. :) So we head out for our Christmas Card photo session in hopes of wishing you all a "sweet" christmas (or something like that) but I decide to save the loli for the end so they don't get to sticky right from the get go. We travel around to a few locations, snapping away, but the kids are getting tired and it's freezing outside so I decide we better find a Lolipop spot and pull over. So I head to one of the (very few) local parks, get the loli out of the trunk and set the kids up how I think I want them for the shoot, then hand over the loli to Jack thinking that that will be the cutest cuz it will be hardest for him to hold. (BELIEVE ME! This thing weighed a TON!)...

So, I took a few shots and then decide to move them back onto the grass. Once we scoot back I get this grand idea that i could jam the loli stick into the ground (it's not frozen yet) and then no one has to hold the thing and they can all just enjoy it. Well, I pick the thing up and shove it into the grass. It didn't go quite deep enough the first time to stay straight, so i raise it up higher over my head and give it a big shove into the grass.
Have you figured it out yet????
Yup - My GINORMOUS,(expensive) PERFECT lolipop SHATTERS! CRAP! Well... there's tons of little pieces all over the grass, but fortunately I was left with 3 large pieces for the kids to enjoy for a couple more pics.

And here they are posing the loli/puzzle pieces together for me so I can get one final snapshot of my poor little(ginormous) lolipop...

Hope you all have a Very Sweet Christmas.....loli or not.:)

Oh my, these are freakin' adorable shots. Love your idea. Too bad it busted, but the shot of all 3 of them with a piece of it is my fave!

That is hilarious Amanda! I can totally see you trying to shove that stupid stick into the ground. I am totally falling out of my chair laughing right now!

I personally think these out takes would make darling cards...so real and in the moment. How are you feeling? Not long now, right? We welcomed baby Nathaniel about a month ago and my how our lives have changed. Take care, looking forward to meeting your little dude soon.

Ha ha ha! But hey - you obviously got some GREAT pictures out of it. My kids did NOT cooperate for their pictures and our cards aren't that great this year - oh well! Can't wait to see your favorite one! Cute stuff!

How precious!
I love it! I bought 3 like this the other day, but they are small. I found them at the Dollar General for 50 cents a piece! Good price, but I can't imagine how much you paid for this monster!

So seriously, how much did you pay for that thing? I'm so curious--how much does the world's biggest lollipop cost?? Cohen is laying on my lap as I'm trying to type and is trying to suck on my arm. Can't wait for your little man to get here! LOVE the red in these shots.
