The WRAPS....

Okay, so this is gonna be A LOT of photos so let me start by explaining. The week before Carson was born I found a link to a photog's site who was selling wraps to take pics of newborns in. They were gorgeous and I so badly wanted one, but she had gotten sooo many orders that she had discontinued taken any more until after the first of the year. I knew this would be too late because by then my baby would be over 2 weeks old and just too big by the time I would get it. So... I forwarded the link to my knitting mom and asked if she could whip/knit one up before Carson was born and bring it out with her. Well... she came out with 5 wraps! So the photo shoots began... I didn't get great pics of him in all of them before our trip to the hospital, but here are a few...

and then since she was going to be here for 2 weeks and I was supposed to be taking it ease, I asked to to try and teach me how to knit. So, we headed to walmart to pick out some yarn. This cool ribbon yarn was on clearance and LOOK what I did with it?!?!?!?!!!!!!

I'm a little proud of myself, not to mention that that is my new favorite photo

Are you kidding me? You're a mom of FOUR kids, one of which is a newborn (which I'm assuming means you still don't sleep that much!) and you threw in 'learning to knit' on the side?? I knew you were talented (flashback to the ironing board woman who scared the bajeebies out of me in college) but this is out of control!

The wraps are gorgeous...and your ribbon one is adorable! Carson really 'makes them' though!

omgosh...love them. This post is funny because l have been seeing alot of wraps to lately for newborns in photos with bright colours instead of the traditional pink and blue and l thought what a great idea. So l have been knitting a bunch for my upcoming newborn shots. I just hope mine look as great as yours. Your pictures are beautiful and your mom did a great job :)

I love the wraps...I immediately said "I want one" in my best little kid voice. I have about 3 1/2 months until our new baby comes I better get on the ball finding someone that knits or start learning myself. The pictures are great btw.

Would you consider selling the ribbon wrap or making one for sale?
I am expecting a baby in the summer and I simply adore your ribbon wrap.

The photos are breathtaking! Love your work.

Oh Man Amanda! This is like the thousandth time I've looked at these pictures...trying to take in every detail...from a Mommy's eye as well as a REALLY beginner photographer...I can't get enough. I love looking at your pictures...I have to do it a few times a day because I usually only get to look and study one picture before one of my little ones needs something. I love looking at them... thanks for sharing. That's so awesome that you knitted the ribbon one! I loved how it turned out. Hope all is well! Anne

Hey Stranger! I haven't commented in awhile because I'm out of different words to describe your photos. They are always so breathtaking! I am dying to get my hands on that sweet little baby! He just looks so squeezeable! We're trying to get rid of all signs of illness at our house so that I can see him someday. In the meantime -- MIss ya!

Do you reckon your mum would mind sharing the basic pattern she used? I have a heap of friends that are due to have babies and want me to take some photo's for them...I'd love to make some for the photos!

Unbelievable! Absolutely adorable. Wanna share the pattern?

ok, those are adorable! I've got two sisters who would love to have them, and I'm a knitter myself. Any chance you would share the pattern? (Or is it on ravelry?) or at least a picture without a baby, though they are adorable, so that I can see the shape of it?

thanks!

Oh my gosh, how very cute. How did you make the wraps? What size needle. I have the ribbon yard, but how many stitches, how many rows? I have to have one.
