I'm a bit behind, but i wanted to get these posted before i forget. Besides being busy, I think i've been putting it off cuz i didn't really get any great pictures. Carson the Dragon wouldn't sit still -

Jack a.k.a. Batman, was being a bit of a grump which was later explained by spiking a fever a throwing up. He had NO desire to trick-or-treat until saturday morning when we let him run to our friends for a sucker...

without my cell phone AGAIN!!! Yes, a few days ago Jack put my cell phone in the sink while he washed his hands. It is COMPLETELY FRIED! So, because of our plan... we're waiting til saturday(oooooh that's tomorrow)to replace it. If you've tried calling or texting, I'm sorry. I'm still pretty good at answering my home phone and emails though. :)

besides the shopping, eating, chatting, laughing, crying, and just hanging out with Holly... it's just soooo much fun having a full day to hang out with a bunch of women that share the same interests as you.... 15 other women with their camera's around their necks just ready to dive into anything photography. It doesn't get much better than that.
oh... but then... there were the beautiful models.... Such a fabulous way to end the day :)

Okay so I'm pretty much a dork as far as trying to decorate my walls and stuff. I NEED help. So... I found these awesome wall display templates HEREand I LOVE them! Not only are they helping me pic out pics and sizes for my own walls, I think they'll come in PERFECT for my clients!

that I have 4 children??? AND.. did you know that I don't have ONE SINGLE Photo of all four of them together??? Sinful isn't it?!? Yes, the last time that we had family pictures done was at Target (shhhh).. (before I knew what an SLR was and knew how to appreciate great photography) over 4 years ago and 2 kids ago. Bella was not quite 18 months old. How sad is that. I have 1 picture framed of my 3 oldest kids that I took shortly after I got my first slr.....
(taken september, 2006)

I was pretty proud of myself for getting a picture of them all looking at me AND getting them in focus. The conversion is another story, but because i knew nothing about NOT EDITING THE ORIGINAL, the photo stays as is because the quality is shot after series of re-edits.
SOOOOOO... This weekend, while Cliff was gone hunting with his dad, I decided that I would try to get a picture of all my kids together. I knew it might be next year before I would get one of ALL of us, but I had to try to capture atleast my kids. My real hope was to capture something "canvas-worthy", which by what i'm about to show you, you'll see didn't happen. However, I think I got a few worth framing atleast. So here they are.... my little four....

for this one, I should of put numbers on their chest. It reminds me of a police line-up and bella has been asked to turn to the left for a profile view... :D

We went out to this AWESOME location that i will definately be re-visiting, but let me tell you the pokey goat-head weeds were OUT OF CONTROL!

and the last one... can you tell how un-cooperative they were???

I love the colors and the smells of autumn...The changes in the weather...The chance to put new clothes on my kids and on myself...looking out the window at the chilly world from my cozy warm house...Baking ANYTHING...burning autumish candles (my favorite right now - Yankee spiced pumpkin)...
There's just so much that happens in the fall that puts a smile on my face.

Senior girl!
We travelled up to boise for this shoot and had a fun time exploring different locations. I think we might have caught the last of the warm weather though! Nice timing "A"! I hope you enjoy your sneak peak!

Zoo Boise...

Yesterday was the annual first grade fieldtrip to the zoo. Jack was soooo excited that I decided to tag along and take him with me. And Bella... Soooo excited! This was her first trip on a school bus... and what kid doesn't look forward to that ?! We got there and it was so cold. I was glad that I had remembered to pack little jackets for the kids. I did however, forget a jacket for me, so I spent most of the day freezing. Oh well... it was still a good time. :)
We went in the reptile building to check things out and one of the zoo keepers had taken the boa constrictor out so he could clean it's cage. The HUGE snake was just hanging out on the floor. To my surprise, my kids LOVED it. Bella couldn't get enough of petting the big thing.

and check me out being so brave myself!!! I shot this with my 50mmm - so you can imagine how close i had to be for this shot. I'm like the "snake charmer" on the discovery channel :)

bella and one of her best little buds in a play egg shell - and sorry, but i can't remember what animal it's supposed to be from.

Last year when Haley's class went the zoo workers told their class that the penny's they had saved had helped the zoo be able to build a habitat for a giraffe and that they would be getting one soon. Well - it's finally here and the kids were so excited!

Jack's only request while we were there was to ride the merry-go-round. Well.. the thing only runs every hour on the hour so we had to sit and wait for them to come back before we left. Here he is proudly waiting with his very own dollar...

Finally! - and so happy about it!

And my favorite part of the day.... I had to ride the merry-go-round with Jack cuz he wasn't tall enough to ride himself. So... I sat carson on one of the animals just to let him sit while we rode. OH. MY. GOODNESS. I have never seen that kid so happy! He was jumping out of his pants with excitement. I had to hang onto him by the hood of his jacket so i could scoot back far enought to try to capture the look on his face.
Not the greatest - but these pictures will forever bring me joy! i LOVE them!

St, St, St, STUDIO...

okay - so not really, but with winter just around the corner, I had to see what my new house had to offer. I tried creating a Natural-Light studio in my living room (or as Cliff likes to call it- The Ping-Pong room). We set up the backdrop stand, threw on some blankets, got a couple kids dressed and gave it a try. This house is more than twice as big as our last house, but I have to say... It does not have great light. Overall... it seems pretty dark in here. So No.. not the best light... but it will do for some rainy, snowy, windy days that lie ahead.

Maybe we'll try out a different room tomorrow with the other two kids. Wish me luck! ha!

FABULOUS Weekend....

I had THE greatest time in Utah this past weekend! I got to hang out with a group of wonderful ladies and their cameras!!! Yay us!
We went to a fabulous spot with beautiful models for a fun little (BIG) photoshoot.

I had some fun time processing these with textures... the location seemed to call for it!

Poor J flew off the slide last week and hit his head on a brick. It split it right open all the way down to the skull. I did take pics of it, but i won't share them cuz i don't want to make anyone pass out.
Anyway... Cliff was gone so I had H call our neighbor while I held J. She came running down so that I could take him to the hospital to get stitches. The girls were screaming more than he was cuz they were so worried about him. H was sure that it was all her fault. Well... as soon as J saw me put my shoes on he started screaming that he was all better and to take my shoes off. There was NO WAY that I was going to get this kid to the hospital by myself. After finally getting a hold of Cliff, he suggested that we call our other neighbor, friend, and surgeon to have him come take a look at it. He told us it would benefit from stitches, but instead of traumatizing J any further, we held him down and let the neighborhood surgeon apply steristrips to the gash.
They were supposed to stay on for atleast a week without getting wet. To try to help with that I went to wal-mart and bought every kind of boyish band-aid I could find. Well... That worked for a few days, but last night he ripped that whole dang thing off. Ewwwww.... it was ugly and I'm sure is gonna leave an ugly scar. We're still trying to keep it covered while it tries to heal. He insists on being his own doctor with the band-aids and today I found him like this......
I'm not sure how many band-aids are on his head, but i'm sure I'll have to buy more soon.

I've been trying to get some great shots of my boys for a few weeks now. I can not seem to get them to sit still long enough for me to get an in-focus shot though. Especially now that C is crawling. He comes right for me with a big old grin.... headed for the big black box attached to my face..

This shoot didn't start as planned. We got to our first location and it was closed to the public because of a wedding. We drove around downtown trying to find some fun places and found this cool little church my blogging friend Laura told me about...

I tried to have fun with it's crazy architecture..

this little dude was loving givin' me the sweet somber looks..

but he did have some smiles in there afterall...

Mom plans on doing an old fashioned trains, planes and automobiles theme in the little boys room so we couldn't pass these up...

And then we made it back to the original location and snuck on since the wedding party had simmered down a bit...

ALL DAY LONG of this family! They were so easy goin' and just fabulous infront of the camera. The live over an hour away (past boise), but saw my last senior pics infront of this cool red barn and decided to drive out to have their pics taken infront of it! How cool is that?! I was feeling a bit a pressure, but I "think" i came through for them ;) Here's just a FEW of my favs so far...

they even let me take em to a different location... I think it was worth it :)

The mom and baby of this family were my very first clients EVER! I begged "K" to let me take pictures of her with her last pregnancy almost exactly 2 years ago. And then when baby "K" was born, I begged her to let me practice with him too...
What a compliment to have them come to me this time around and actually ask me to do it. :)

Jack and I finally got out for a little photo adventure for his 3 year pictures. He was such a good little dude for me. We had a blast going from location to location. I let him choose where and how he wanted to pose and it was so fun to see what he came up with. We got some fun fun ones and some i can't wait to blow up and put on my wall. Happy Birthday again big boy! I love ya!

We split this session into 2 days. On Day one we went in search of a great field so we could put her dad's awesome truck and a cowboy hat to use! We left late and the light didn't last long, but it was beautiful!

On day 2 went exploring downtown and even found a fun new location!

First Day of School!

Woohoo! Everyone (yes me included) was excited for this day to come. Today we all rose bright and early to get ready for the first day of school. Even Bellla was up by 7 (VERY rare for her) with a smile on her face!
They weren't, however, thrilled about letting me take their pictures. I'm sure you can tell but what i have to share.

Is what Jack will answer when asked, "How old are you now?"
Yup- JackJack turned 3 yesterday and to celebrate, we had a big bar-b-q with our funfun friends.
We added a little spiderman theme to the mix...

When It was time for cake, we gathered everyone around (about 40 people) so that we could sing to him a blow out candles. I get my camera out and Jack starts freaking out. He jumps off the stool and announces, "I've gotta get my hair ready!!!" and runs off to the bathroom. 2 minutes later he comes out with dripping, slicked hair. I swear I had nothing to do with that.
So... up at the bar again, candles burning, and the whole party singing Happy Birthday and my CAMERA DIES!!!!! I was sooo ticked! my friends are asking... do you want us to start over.. we can re-light the candles...etc... But I'm convinced I won't be able to fix it so the party goes on.
Well.. My dear friend Stephanie takes over and gets some GREAT pictures with her CELL PHONE! Yay!!! Thanks Steph!!!

Well... then shortly after cake and icecream time I get my camera back working. PHEW!
I run outside to grab one of him on our new swingset that my Cliff worked so hard on to get done by the party.

Then it's Present time which was mass chaos. He didn't want to look at me for any of the pictures or even stop to show me what he got. I had to get a picture of this though.... A couple of weeks ago I asked him what he wanted for his birthday... His response = A elephant!
Okay.... So I find this cute fluffy elephant and pick it up for him. He Opens it, takes one look at it and hands it to Bella saying, "Here Bella, this one's for you." Hahaha... I guess it looked girly to him or something.

Then we had Pinata time! Woohoo...
Jack absolutely LOVED having the freedom to WHACK the crap our of something! I had a hard time getting the stick away from him so other kids could have a turn...

His favorite new thing is the Star Wars electric ride-on 4wheeler. He wouldn't let me take a picture of him on it, but some other cute kid was all grins for me on it. :)

So Happy Happy Birthday mr. JackJack! I'm so glad that you're finally thwee odles!

Okay - but i'm such a dork! We drove all the way out to Boise for this session, which is a good 45 minutes away. We get there, find our first location, and i start snapping away. I look down and my camera is flashing " NO CF CARD"! ACK!!!! I open my little pouch and I have 1 2 gig card in there. That woulda been just fine if I didn't shoot in RAW. So I'm freaking out, but then "L" reminds me that there's a best buy a few blocks away. Yay - I can go buy one...... IF I HAD REMEMBERED MY PURSE!!???!?!? UGH! So i had to shoot, shooot, shoot, then delete any that i thought were crappy....then repeat... all night long.
So to make it up to her, I promised her another 1/2 seesion here in town. So... you just might be seeing more of her. :)

We just had to hit this pepsi machine before the sun set. I sent the 2 oldest girls into albertsons with a $20 to grab a six-pack of pepsi and off we went. We literally shot til the sun went down. SOOOO much fun!!!

You would not believe the amount of Fabulous proofs I have for this group. The great pictures just kept loading and loading and i kept proofing and proofing. So Much FUN!!!... part 1

Part 1 cuz there is soooo much more to come. It's just that i think these guys are waiting for their sneak peak and I don't want to dissapoint...
And there's so much more, cuz this was actually a 2 day shoot. And with so much beautiful involved, I have so many to share! You all are just gonna have to give me some time to edit.

Okay - I'm driving to the location of choice and on the way we drive right past the salvation army second hand store. In the middle of the parking lot, right next to the dumpster someone has left this beautiful(yup-for pictures it's beautiful) couch! It's just sitting there begging for me to throw this beautiful family onto it and take some pictures. It took everything out of me to not come to a screeching halt when I saw it! And yes - I LOVE how it turned out!

and then I tried some new processing on it and I'm having a hard time choosing my fav. Hmmmm... What do you all think?

For Miss E! This family is from Utah and came up for a family reunion. I was tickled that she asked me to do family pics for her. I was even more tickled when she e-mailed some snaps of her Uncles property that they'd be staying at. WOWSERS! Seriously! This place was a photographers DREAM! It was over an hour drive for me, but completely worth it!!! There were wheat fields, log cabins, fish ponds with paddle boats, putting greens, and BEAUTIFUL landscaping everywhere! I think we barely skimmed the service of the beauty this property had to offer. Her aunt even offered to let me come shoot there whenever. Hmmmmmm... I just might have to take her up on it :)

Poor baby had his first bike accident yesterday. I heard the screaming from outside and then in walks Jack with a swollen, bleeding chin. There were plenty of tears, but it was a good thing I had just gotten home from Wal-mart with a brand new box of Spider man Bandaids! How is it that a bandaid can cure anything for a kid?

All is much better today though!

Man it's been a long time since anyone tagged me. Yesterday, Megan tagged me to list 7 quirky things about me. Quirky??? Does anyone have a definition for that? I'm a pretty boring person, so 7 is gonna be pretty hard. Heck -I'm having a hard time thinking of 1 to start with. hmmmmmm
Okay - Let me see what I can come up with....( some may be repeats from older "tagged" posts)

1. Sometimes I clean up by putting all my clutter into laundry baskets and hiding it in my closet. You may think my house is clean, but is it really???? :)

2. I was pre-med in college and still sometimes think about going back and becoming a doctor...an ob-gyn.

3. I love going through labor and delivery. I suppose the epidural has something to do with this, but if I could, I would go through this over and over.

4. I like my music with a little bump in it ( sometimes a lot) ( I know there's some of you laughing right now)

I need some time to think.... Here's some pics of my kids taken in my new front yard. We have a fountain out there that we can't get to work, but it's soooo green and perfect for pictures.

There was a time when this family consisted of almost all boys. Well, it seems as if the girls have taken over. What would we do without them? Okay, so the polly pocket wars were a little too much, but the giggles and fashion shows made up for it.
Can you imagine what family reunions will be like in 7 years?????

I've been getting the lectures that I need to get back on here and start blogging again - so here I am. With all the crazy moving that's been taking place, I really haven't had much time or desire to pick up my camera. We're finally done with the move though and FINALLY have internet again ( i was without it for a week!!! - total withdrawls)
So without much to blog about I'll just pop in, say hi, and share a few snap shots from the last few weeks.
We did get to go visit cousins. It will be so fun to watch these two grow up together...

When we bought this house Cliff INSISTED on buying a ping-pong table. I kept asking him where he was gonna put it. Well... since I don't have the furniture yet, it sits right in the middle of my front room... Yes - you see it right when you walk in the front door. I've gotta hurry up and get me some couches to take over! :)
But here's a quick pick of my baby korean on a ping-pong table....teehee :)

So that's it... It's good to be back to (somewhat) normal. Hopefully I'll have more to post soon.

Shutting Down!

Well, today is the BIG day. We'll be picking the Uhaul up soon and start loading it to move over to our new house. I'm getting ready to shut down my computer and don't know how long it will take to get it back up and running. And sooo squishy, sweet, and happy! This beautiful baby makes me smile! He makes early mornings okay! I just LOVE LOVE LOVE him! I can't believe he's already six months old and growing so fast.
So the first one pretty much made me pee my pants when it came up on my computer monitor. Holly and I had some fun coming up with what he might be thinking. I'll spare you all, but here's the fun picture...

Oh my Gosh!!! Did I really just say that??? We're moving! In less than 3 weeks we'll be out of here. I don't remember how to move. Packing?!?! I hate packing! Does anyone wanna come help me? :)

Last Weekend's Adventures....

I can't believe I'm a week behind! It seems like i'm usually looking for something to happen to give me a reason to blog and now i can't catch up. So here's Last weekend's post with lots and lots and lots of photos.

We decided to head out to Cliff's brother's house for Memorial day. When we got there, we found out that their dog had had a batch(as cousin kelli called it) of puppies the day before. Oh My Goodness!!! My kids were in heaven! Especially Jack, he could NOT put the poor little things down. He had to pick each one up and spend special time with it in his own little chair and before moving on to the next, he'd give it a gentle kiss on the top of the head. By the end of the weekend they all had names. Too fun!

On saturday, We decided to take a big family trip to Yellowstone National Park. Can you believe that my husband has lived in the Rocky Mountains for most of his life and he's never been there?? Anyway, it was a crappy weather day - it rained most of the time, (even snowed for part of the way) so we spent most of the time in the car...sat in the rain waiting for Old Faithful to do it's thing, and headed home. Maybe some day we'll go back when we can enjoy it a little more. :)

Sunday ended up being beautiful! I spent some time with Carson just hanging out...

The kids played outside trying to catch butterflies and make wishes. I wish i had a picture of all the butterflies. It was like a butterfly storm there were so many flying around.

After dinner, Grandpa took a few of the boys to feed one of the neighbor's horses. They LOVED it!

They LOVED it even more when Grandpa took them to a different neighbor's house and he let them RIDE his horse (actually a mule :)

He didn't get to go first so here he is patiently waiting...

Finally his turn! I know this picture doesn't show it, but he really was mr. permagrin the whole time! Soooo cute!

When we got home i grabbed a few of the girls and tried to get a nice sunflare pic..

Then... with the little light left, Laurie and I jumped in the car with all the little girls... ALL 5 of them and headed on a very short photo adventure. We needed no radio though, because we were entertained with Hannah Montana Songs the whole way... pretty funny!
I'd seen this coke can on the way into town and knew I had to get a pic of it for Wendy and Karen - Here ya go girls...

Then we tried out a few other spots with the little light we had left...

Then on Monday, before we left, Laurie asked if I'd get a quick shot of baby Cohen. And... I just had to share... Remember him? He's my cute newborn from my October posts. Can you believe how Cute and big he is?!!!

Phew... I don't know if you made it all the way through this post, but I did! ha!

AND... he came all the way from Utah for me (okay maybe he came for grandma, but i'm gonna pretend it was for me:) He was such a good baby. I had never met them before the shoot - only emailed back and forth. When they arrived at the location the oldest boy got out first. I took one look at him and thought man this kid looks like my kids. Sure enough, he is 1/4 korean just like my little kiddos.

Then the mom gets out of the car with the little brother. You wouldn't even know he was asian. Check out these gorgeous eyes!

And I have some of the bluest eyes ever and have never and probably will never get a baby of my own with eyes like these. Lucky little dude!

Yes, two beautiful babies! While I was in Arizona last weekend, Holly and I had the opportunity to photograph 4 day old twin baby boys. They were Perfect! What an awesome opportunity for us - and guess what??? I get to do it again next week. :) Only this time it will be 2 beautiful baby girls. Lucky me!

Seriously! Are they not the most beautiful family you've ever met?!? When Holly asked me if I'd take their family pictures, I have to admit I was a bit(maybe even a lot) nervous. I've never taken photos for another photographer before and then to have it be one of my best friends in the whole world....and.... I really want to remain her best friend..... so yeah - NERVOUS!
Then, then day of pictures I come down with this horrible migraine. By the time we got to the location - yes, the apparently famous "Pecans", it took everything out of me to not throw up. I told her that if I didn't get anything good, I'd just fly out in October for a re-shoot. So with the migraine, I definately didn't get everything that I planned, but... it turns out that I don't think I have to fly back in for a re-shoot.(although I'll probably fly back out anyway). I LOVE what I got and Holly, I hope you do to!

You Say it's Your BIRTHDAY...

nanananana....It's my BIRTHDAY tooo-ooo...nanananana... Yup - That's right. Today I turn 32 years old. Woohoo... (that's right - I'm publicly announcing it :) )
I have sooooo much to post and share and I know soooo many of you are waiting for pics from this weekend.
For those of you who don't know, I flew to Mesa this weekend. The weekend started with a photo shoot for my Best Friend HOLLY and her beautiful family. Even though I didn't feel well, it really was an honor to be able to do a photoshoot for her. Her family is one of the most beautiful families I know. And her children, sooo well behaved. LOVE them!!!
On Saturday we held our first "Picture Life" workshop. It was AWESOME!!!! I met some of the most incredible, beautiful, wonderful women EVER!!! If you were there and you're reading this... THANK YOU SOOOOOOOO MUCH for coming! I had a blast!
So hopefully I'll have pictures to share soon from that! :)
Then, on Sunday, Holly and I had the opportunity to do a photoshoot together of absolutely beautiful 4 day old twin baby boys!!! We were sooo giddy! So yeah - TONS of pictures from that too.
I got home late last night and still have to transfer the hundreds, literally hundreds, of pictures onto my computer and edit them so you can all see. I guess i just wanted to let you all know that they're coming. So.... Stay Tuned!

This gorgeous senior had actually scheduled with me last October. I think we rescheduled at least 4 times because of weather and then finally had to postpone til now because of my big ol' belly. The weather wasn't cooperating on friday either, but we were running out of chances before graduation so we decided to give it a try anyway. The wind was blowing like crazy and it was freezing, but we got some beautiful ones of her.

Kindergarten Concert

For miss B. She was sooo excited for her first concert after going to 3 of her big sister's performances. They did a Mr. Rogers theme and it turned at really cute. It was sooo funny to watch her. She kept her eye on us the whole time while she posed, smiled, and waved for us. You could just tell she was really proud to be up there. So fun!

We actually started out with the perfect view. But right before the concert started, this HUGE...like 6&1/2 foot guy came and sat right infront of me! Cliff and I looked at each other and just started laughing. Oh well...

It's not going to last long so I had to take advantage of it. We almost hit 80 degrees this weekend!! I couldn't believe it!
Anyway, I grabbed H and took her out to the front yard to try out my new $3 parisol. She was a trooper for about 10 minutes, but I think I got a few good ones in our short little play date. :)

Holy Cow!!! We opened our Mesa workshop last night around 10pm and as of 4:30pm today, it is FULL!!!! Infact... we may have slightly overbooked.. oops. I am sooo excited about the response and cannot wait for the big day!

Sooooo Excited!

Because I LOVE photography! LOVE it! I remember getting my first camera in grade school and inviting friends over to do photo shoots with. I would go through rolls and rolls and rolls of film. In highschool and college, I was always afraid to enroll in photography classes because I was sure that I wouldn't be good enough, that I didn't have the "artistic" part in me. When I was in my 20's, I didn't have the money to invest in equipment or classes. Finally, in my 30's something changed. It was okay to pursue what I wanted and I didn't care if others were better or if they would laugh at my lack of skill. AND, the finances were there.

I called my friend, Holly, who already had a successful photography business, and asked her to recommend a book that might teach me how to take better pictures of my kids. Two weeks later I had my first SLR. The addiction, the passion, the LOVE began!

18 months later, I now feel blessed with a talent that I'm still striving to learn more about and increase my skills in. It brings me joy to have someone else actually interested in talking to me about photography or asking me questions.

Though they may have been teasing requests, Holly and I have had requests to offer workshops to other aspiring photographers. At first we laughed these requests off with a "yeah right" and "why us?" After some discussion the laughing became, "Why not" and "How fun would that be?!" So now, after a lot of planning, we are ready to offer our first Beginners Photography Workshop!!

Yesterday was "C's" baby blessing. We waited so much longer with him after he got sick that I was worried about him fitting into his outfit. Surprisingly, he squeezed right into it. He looked perfect! Cliff's parents and his brother came out to be part of it so we had a little family time.
I always love listening to my husband give my children such sweet blessings.

Cookie Time!

Okay- I'm hoping that you all don't get sick of seeing snapshots from me. I'm trying to be better about capturing everyday life... and this week there's a lot of it. The kids are on spring break, it's raining, and I'm running out of activities for them and it's only tuesday... :P
So for today's fun activity, I handed Haley a recipe book and let her be in charge of baking cookies with the other two kids. She read the directions and they all took turns adding ingredients.

They were making snickerdoodles, so they each got their own balls to roll in the cinnamon-sugar...just a bit messy.

Jack wanted me to take a picture of every cookie after it got a nice coating of sticky sugar. He was so proud! :)

Quick Trip...

...to Utah and a few snapshots of our trip.
So my bff, Holly calls and says she's headed up to Utah for spring break and do I want to meet her. Heck yah! So I mention it to Cliff and he reminds me that his niece is getting baptized that weekend down there. So, we all jump in the car and head down together for a quick visit. My kids favorite part about any vacation: staying in a hotel that has a pool and beds that they're allowed to jump on. :)

Cliff hasn't been back to Utah in years. We decided that it would be fun to take the kids back to our old college campus and give them a tour.

Sunday, before we headed back home, we stopped by my grandma's for a quick visit. It had been quite a while since I had seen her. Infact, Jack (and ofcourse carson) had never even met her. I barely got some pics taken in her basement appartment...good thing I brought my flash.

So now we're home and there's a ton of laundry to be done, a house to be cleaned, and kids to entertain since there's no school all week. :)

I went home last week and got to spend a little bit of time with my family.
This is my little sister, Julie. I was 8 yrs old when she was born and I don't think that my mom would disagree when I say that I was her 2nd mother. I LOVED having a baby to take care of.
Well, now she is all grown up and so very beautiful and talented. She has a gorgeous voice and plays the guitar. She has recorded a demo cd that the local music store has agreed to sell for her. So.... I got to do a mini photo shoot with her to try to get some images for her cd cover!!! So, when you all see this beauty in your own music stores, you can say you "met" her here first. :)

I knit my first hat!!!! and today.... my hands HURT! Maybe cuz it took me forever! I didn't really know what I was doing, and actually had to call my mom twice to get directions over the phone. I think I started over atleast 4 times.... so Yeah - I'm proud of this one! It may be simple, but I Love it and LOVE how cute my sweet little baby looks in it. :)

My SECRET Weekend

...or my trip to the SECRET WORKSHOP. It was a funfun weekend, visiting family, hanging out with my BFF, Holly, and attending the SECRET WORKSHOP put on by Cheryl Muhr and JINKY!!! For a few hours of the workshop all the attendees got to go out side and photograph kids. We spent some time with Cheryl and some time with Jinky, watching them "work it" in real life. Then we did our own thing. It was a bit chaotic with so many photogs trying to capture models at the same time. I think I got a few, and ONLY a few worth sharing...

I just love how squishy this little guy is! My scale is horrible, so i'm not quite sure how much he weighs, but i'm guessing about 15 pounds. Not bad for a 2 month old that started out at 7lb 15oz and lost weight at 2 weeks while he was sick in the hospital. You know that song that goes, "My milkshakes bring all the boys to the yard...".. Yeah, my friends say that's my theme song when I nurse. I just wish him gaining more weight, meant me losing it... Oh well...I LOVE me some baby chubs!

I just got my book back from BLURB where I had them "slurp" my blog. My kids love having my blog in their little hands so they can look at it for hours. However, one of the first comments I got from "H" was... "There's hardly any pictures of me in here."
Oops... She was sooo right. It seems like I always have my camera out while she's at school or just not in the mood. So.. Friday we headed out on a special photo-date together. We had so much fun and she did so great posing for the camera.

The WRAPS....

Okay, so this is gonna be A LOT of photos so let me start by explaining. The week before Carson was born I found a link to a photog's site who was selling wraps to take pics of newborns in. They were gorgeous and I so badly wanted one, but she had gotten sooo many orders that she had discontinued taken any more until after the first of the year. I knew this would be too late because by then my baby would be over 2 weeks old and just too big by the time I would get it. So... I forwarded the link to my knitting mom and asked if she could whip/knit one up before Carson was born and bring it out with her. Well... she came out with 5 wraps! So the photo shoots began... I didn't get great pics of him in all of them before our trip to the hospital, but here are a few...

and then since she was going to be here for 2 weeks and I was supposed to be taking it ease, I asked to to try and teach me how to knit. So, we headed to walmart to pick out some yarn. This cool ribbon yarn was on clearance and LOOK what I did with it?!?!?!?!!!!!!

Snow Day!

Yeah -that's right and it's sunday! We got soooo much snow this week and even more last night that they cancelled church. The road conditions were just too bad. Crazy! So the kids went outside with Cliff to help him shovel and started building themselves a little igloo. I swear this is more snow than we've seen the whole time we've lived in Idaho. It just won't quit! At least the kids are enjoying themselves! :)

You would not believe the amount of snow that we're getting this year! It's out of control! And now that Carson is out of my belly, I'm in the mood to get out there and play. I can't, the weather is waaaaaay too bad. 30mph winds, the snow won't stop, and it's freezing! So, out of boredom, I forced my kids to pose a little today so I could play with my new lens. I'm still trying to get a hang of this thing.

Even though it takes a little bribing, she usually is great about getting out there and striking a pose. I made her tough it out in the cold this time, but I think it was worth the m&m's i had to give up for the pics. :)

to take pictures of her. Yesterday we finally had decent enough weather to get out there and snap a few. I can't beleive how old my little 8 year old is getting.
She's such a big girl and has been such a huge help to me with the new baby. She is always so willing to do what is asked of her and often goes the extra mile by doing even more.
I'm proud of you miss "H". Love ya!

Seriously???? Who has my pause button? I wanna freeze time and snuggle him so small forever, but time just passes way too fast. I know that there are so many fun things to look forward to with him, but I'm trying to enjoy every moment of sweetness with him now.
